Chijioke Onwudebe is a licensed Texas attorney, certified mediator, and managing partner of Onwudebe & Associates, PLLC in Houston, Texas. With a legal career spanning the United States and Nigeria, Mr. Onwudebe brings a broad range of experience in civil litigation, personal injury, immigration, family law, business matters, dispute resolution, and legal advocacy.
As Managing Partner of Onwudebe & Associates, PLLC, Mr. Onwudebe represents individuals, families, and businesses in a variety of legal matters. His practice includes civil litigation and personal injury claims, family law matters involving divorce, child custody and support, immigration petitions and related proceedings, federal asset forfeiture matters, business entity formation, contracts, debt resolution, and other legal disputes. He has extensive experience preparing pleadings, discovery requests, motions, briefs, settlement agreements, and other legal documents, and has represented clients in both state and federal courts.
A significant part of Mr. Onwudebe’s practice is devoted to negotiation and alternative dispute resolution. His experience includes negotiating settlements, mediating disputes, resolving debt-related claims, and working with opposing parties and counsel to identify practical solutions to complex legal problems. His approach emphasizes careful preparation, effective communication, strategic negotiation, and a strong commitment to protecting his clients’ interests.
Mr. Onwudebe’s legal foundation extends beyond the United States. He earned his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of Lagos and his Barrister-at-Law (B.L.) from the Nigerian Law School before earning his Juris Doctor from Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston.
Before establishing his own practice in Texas, Mr. Onwudebe practiced and gained valuable legal experience in Nigeria, including serving as Junior Counsel with Paul C. Ananaba (SAN) & Co. Legal Practitioners and Solicitors, where he handled litigation, negotiations, mediations, legal research, and appellate matters. He also served as a Research Assistant to a High Court Judge in Bayelsa State, conducting legal research and assisting with the preparation and review of legal materials.
Mr. Onwudebe is known for his strong communication skills, attention to detail, practical approach to problem-solving, and ability to navigate challenging legal issues. He believes that effective legal representation requires more than knowledge of the law—it requires listening to clients, understanding their objectives, developing sound strategies, and pursuing solutions that serve their interests.
Outside of his legal practice, Mr. Onwudebe enjoys traveling, sports, and community service.
